Lessons

Start with HSK 1. Complete each lesson's six checks to unlock the next. Finish all HSK 1 lessons before HSK 2, and all HSK 2 lessons before HSK 3.

Fully free learning

All 248 guided lessons, 998 vocabulary entries, 244 grammar points, and word practice are free. No purchases or subscriptions are offered. Lessons unlock in learning order; completing a previous lesson or level is the only course prerequisite. Vocabulary and grammar references can be browsed at every level.

Words and practice

In Characters, choose Words to browse or Practice to review random words. The first Not yet sends a word to the end. A second Not yet reveals its answer. If it is the last word, the session ends with the answer displayed.

Saved words

Open a word and choose Save to vocabulary. Use Vocabulary to search or remove saved words.

Streaks and coins

Eligible lesson practice earns 3 coins once per lesson per day. Recall practice does not award coins or advance your streak. Each shield costs 30 coins and automatically protects one missed day. Coins have no cash value and cannot be purchased with money.

Reminders and audio

Enable reminders in Profile and allow notifications in iPhone Settings. Reminders are scheduled up to seven days ahead and refresh when you use the app. If pronunciation is silent, check your volume and installed Mandarin voices in iOS settings.

Storage

Progress stays on this device. There is no account or cloud sync. Deleting the app removes local progress; offloading may retain it. Device backups are managed by Apple.
